Antique Japanese Kitchen Tansu Meiji Era c1890's Keyaki & Sugi Wood Tansu Chest 48"W

This is a beauty with a natural wood finish. This late Meiji era c1890 Mizuya or kitchen tansu has all the original 4 drawers and three cabinets behind three styles of sliding doors.  The whole chest is divided into two sections making it very versatile. The highly figured wood grain of the drawer fronts is done in Keyaki - Japanese Elm (Zelkova). The case and interior is all Sugi - Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria). As well as being an amazing statement piece this Mizuya has a lot of storage space.
