RANMA

Ranma were used in traditional Japanese homes above sliding doors to provide air flow between adjoining rooms.  They are carved on both sides typically with nature scenes, pines, bamboo, eagles and more.  These date to the late Meiji, Taisho period, circa 1910-20 and make beautiful wall hangings or to create a visual break in a space such as a great room when hung from the ceiling.  Packing and shipping quotes are available upon request.
