KODANSU AND BODANSU CHESTS
These tansu were used to store small personal items, books, etc. They
have a variety of drawers and shelves behind sliding doors that make these small
tansu especially flexible in terms of use and placement. Small bases can
be made to lift them up to side table height. Bodansu are chests with a
vertical locking bar across several drawers that provide additional security
(although most of them do no lock anymore) and visual interest.
